  1. What is DNS? Your domain name address is actually a long set of numbers that would be very hard to remember so we use descriptive words and let the (DNS) Domain Name Server translate the domain name into sets of numbers (IP address) xxx.xx.xxx.xx so that a browser can locate your site. When you register a domain name  you are asked for two servers a primary and a secondary (DNS) Domain Name Server. Your domain name is considered parked at the servers you specify. When you register a domain name with 0-domain-name-registration.stuff.com it is parked on a primary and secondary DNS until you are ready to use it. We provide this service free when you register a domain name with us.

  2. Where do I get information about DNS? There are two DNS fields in the registration form which are optional. You may register a domain name without DNS information and 0-domain-name-registration.stuff.com will park your domain name free on a DNS until you are ready for it. When you are ready to put your site on line (typically with a web hosting company) the hosting company will supply you with the new numbers which you can change through your free "Domain Management" account. The hosting company would become your new DNS host but your domain name would still be registered through us.

  3. How do I change the DNS information? If you have your domain name registered through 0-domain-name-registration.stuff.com go to "Domain Management" on our site. You will be asked for the username and password you designated at the time you set up your domain account. If you misplaced this information through email it will be sent to the email address on the account.

  4. How long does it take for DNS changes to take effect? The propagation period is typically between 48 and 72 hours. This is standard in the industry. The whois registry databases update automatically. Propagation is the time required for the new nameserver to add the information and the old nameserver to remove the information.

URL-FORWARDING
URL-forwarding is available as a service from 0-Domain-Name-Registration-Stuff. URL-forwarding is a function of the management control panel.

Access the Manage section through our Member Login with your username and password, and select the URL-forwarding link. You will receive banner-free forwarding to the URL of your choice.

You can use a www URL- http : //www.yourcompany.com/yourexamplesite.html, or a host URL- http : //12.34.56.789.

It will take a couple of days for your change to propagate Internet-wide. Your domain will be hosted on our servers, and will pull up the webpage you specify. Therefore, you cannot specify meta tags or other domain information. Your name will be in the address bar of the browser window at all times- your "real" web address will be hidden.

You may change your forwarding destination at any time through the management control panel. Simply log back in to the Enable URL-forwarding section, and update your web address. Click the Enable URL-forwarding to update the address.

EMAIL FORWARDING
Email forwarding is available as a service of 0-Domain-Name-Registration-Stuff. You can have "anymailrecipient @ yourdomain.com" mail forwarded to any existing email address.

To activate email forwarding, log on to the Manage section via the Member Login link on the left-hand side of our website. Enter your username and password. If you have forgotten your username and password, enter the email address you used at the time of registration, and we will email you your username and password.

Once you've logged on, click the Enable Email Forwarding link. Select what email address you'd like to set up for your domain, as well as the email address you'd like to forward that email to. If your real email address changes, no problem. Just return to the Control Panel and the email forwarding section and update your email address.

The cost for email forwarding is for up to 10 addresses. You may purchase an additional 10 addresses. It will take 24-48 hours for your email to begin forwarding.
